PULSE Reflex Data Viewer Type 8701

PULSE Reflex Data Viewer enables review and display of project data. The data table has user-configurable columns which can contain any of a wide range of data descriptors, including user-defined meta data. The rows of the table can be filtered and sorted using a combination of columns, providing a powerful way to focus on data of interest.

Uses

  • Review and report project data or imported data from other systems
  • Compare results from multiple tests or projects
  • Annotate graphs using selections of meta data
  • Step automatically through data with an intelligent overlay of similar data
  • Simple and efficient reporting of results in Microsoft® Powerpoint® or Microsoft® Word®, based on user-defined templates

Features

  • Fast, template-based reporting to Microsoft® Word® and Microsoft® PowerPoint®
  • User-controllable use of meta data for sorting and filtering displayed data
  • Graphical, user-interactive template setup for automatic generation of customised reports
  • Full use of meta data to automatically annotate graph legends, display titles and page titles
  • Reportable meta data table for displaying a user-defined selection of meta data values
  • Reportable scalar table for displaying single-value data such as statistics
  • Graph presets, separately definable based on physical unit type, for graphical axis limits, ranges, dB references and weighting

The graphical displays are filled automatically, based on the data selection in the table. Transport controls in the header bar enable the selection to be automatically incremented to enable quick and easy scanning through the entire data set. This scanning process, as well as providing a convenient way to view all the data, provides a preview of each page (or slide) of the report before it is generated.

Reports can be generated in either Microsoft® Word® or Microsoft® PowerPoint®, either from blank documents, or from templates prepared in advance. Template creation is controlled directly from the Data Viewer and is both flexible and easy to perform.

Data is being viewed here from five different tests with the same signal result overlaid in each graph. A meta data table has been defined to show the data type, function type, physical quantity and signal name. Using the transport controls in the header bar, the entire data set can be scanned quickly with each test result overlaid according to signal name.

The next step is to design a template for the report (in this case using Microsoft® PowerPoint®. The position of each data element can be controlled; Page Title, Meta-Data Table, and an area for the graphical displays. Once defined, this template can be saved, and possibly further refined in Microsoft® PowerPoint® itself, before being used for reports.

All the data in the table are transferred to the report in one step, and the report is ready for review.
