Sistema portátil de monitorado con conexión remota
Rugged, Battery-Powered, Weather-Protected Noise Measurement
Unattended noise monitoring using calibrated equipment is an ever present requirement for short and medium term measurement applications including;
- Environmental impact assessment & planning
- Building construction noise assessment
- Concert and sports venue licensing
- Assessment of road, railway and aircraft noise
- Industrial process licensing
- Noise map validation
- Neighbour noise assessment
The brand new ‘Type 3535 All-weather case’ offers a compact and light-weight weather protected enclosure for the Type 2250 Hand-held Analyzer and Type 4952 outdoor microphone resulting in a unique short/medium term noise monitoring system. Operation of the system extends the ‘Easy, Safe and Clever’ philosophy of the Type 2250 for hand-held measurements to unattended, weather protected noise measurement.
The innovative design of the all-weather enclosure benefits greatly from embracing recent advances in battery and communication technologies making the system easy to transport and locate where it’s needed while allowing simple management of the system remotely.
Light-weight and compact
Two slim-line Lithium Ion battery packs provide the power to operate all equipment inside the case. Lithium Ion technology offers a 5 times greater power to weight ratio than equivalent lead-acid batteries which were often used in similar older systems. This allows 12 days of day-time monitoring with a case weighing less than 7Kg. The Li-Ion battery packs can be re-charged in the case, ‘hot-swapped’ in-situ allowing un-interrupted measurement or the system can be fully mains powered.

High speed, internet based communication is provided by one of the 3G or GPRS modems supported in the case design. This allows remote data retrieval and monitoring of the real-time noise levels keeping you in touch with your measurements at all times.
E-mail and SMS text messages to your PC or mobile phone informing you instantly of noise events requiring a response, battery power levels requiring attention, informing of memory storage status, calibration status and many other user-programmed trigger conditions. Utilizing low cost SMS text and e-mail technology, Type 3535 facilitates efficient working, contacting you only when a trigger condition has occurred.

Support of the new SDHC high capacity standard for SD memory cards. This allows up to 32GB of data storage on one SD card resulting in the convenience of long periods of time between data retrieval tasks and the flexibility to store long duration, high quality sound recordings to enhance the assessment.
Charge Injection Calibration (CIC)
Measurement Integrity is all important in any noise monitoring exercise and particularly in one where the system is to be left unattended for a number of days or even weeks. CIC provides a means of regularly auto-checking the measurement system to ensure the continued and accurate operation of the unsupervised monitoring system.

Scalable to suit your application and requirements
The Type 3535 All-weather Case can be used with any of the 2250 and 2270 models. For example the Type 3535 when used with a 2250Light and 4952 outdoor microphone offers a basic level of noise monitoring capability at an accordingly basic level of pricing. With a full 2250 installed in the system, sound recording, event detection and tonal analysis can be included as optional, scalable components to meet the needs of the specific monitoring tasks.
How Reliable Are Unattended Measurements?
Measurement integrity is of the utmost importance in noise measurement whether inside or outside, for attended and unattended measurements alike. Class 1 as described in the sound level meter standard IEC 61672-1:2002, is the grade of accuracy often required for outdoor measurement but how can you be sure that the required Class 1 accuracy isn’t compromised when using a weather protected microphone with your Class 1 sound level meter. Placing a small device such as a rain guard or windscreen in close proximity to the microphone diaphragm may produce significant acoustic reflection and measurement errors at mid and high frequencies.
The 2250 Hand-held Analyzer with 4952 Outdoor Microphone are a Type approved system combination independently approved to Class 1 accuracy by PTB in Germany (see Type approval certificate below). This ensures that the measurement system complies with the minimum requirements on accuracy for unattended noise measurement, a consideration often overlooked in many widely available, portable noise monitoring systems.

A built-in calibration reminder within the instrument and the automatic Charge Injection Calibration facility during measurement further underline the importance Brüel & Kjær place on measurement accuracy of this system when used unattended.
