Description:
Introduction to Vibration Measurements; Why measure Vibrations, What is Vibration, Mechanical Parameters, Mass-spring Systems. How to Quantify Vibration; Signal types and units, Time Signal Descriptors, Conversions: Acceleration, Velocity, Displacement, Physical Units. Vibration Measurement and Analysis; Why Frequency Analysis, Spectrum or Overall Level, Filters, Detectors and Averaging, Linear vs. Logarithmic Amplitude and Frequency Scales, Vibration Parameters.
Objectives:
To understand the basic terminology and features of Vibration Analysis. To be able to perform correct Vibration Measurement and Analysis in practice. To know limitations and errors when using Vibration Transducers and Signal Conditioning. To provide the skills necessary for participation in advanced Brüel & Kjær courses.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge in mathematics, physics and electrical measurements is recommended.
